'open air' is a campaign that strives to encourage people to engage in physical activity to improve their mental health. Movement and mental health are inherently interconnected. Engaging in some form of physical activity has been shown to improve mood, energy levels, sleep patterns, and reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression. Because mental health

is such a prevalent issue in today's society, this project is aimed at addressing this often stigmatized issue.

Although mental health is an issue that affects people of all ages, studies have shown that 75% of mental health conditions develop by age 24 . Because of this, ‘open air’ wants to target this demographic (18-25 yrs old) who are experiencing more pressure than previous generations due to increased cost of schooling, a competitive job market, social media and more. The natural personality and behavioral changes of adolescence can often mask symptoms of mental health issues, so they go untreated. Giving support to young people early on can be crucial in creating positive outcomes down the road. We can’t get rid of the pressures and stress of everyday life, but we can find positive ways to respond to them.
